Clinical and pathologic features of metastatic neoplasms of the pericardium.
Of 60 cases with pericardial metastatic disease, 26 had significant effects on the cardiovascular system. Pericardial metastases were suspected in 18 of these cases before death. The most common features reported were dyspnea on exertion and pleural effusion. While these were nonspecific for circulatory disturbance, ECG features of ST-T changes and low voltage QRS complexes were helpful in susp...
متن کاملIntratubular germ cell neoplasms of the testis and bilateral testicular tumors: Clinical significance and management options
OBJECTIVES Intratubular germ cell neoplasia (ITGCN) is the precursor lesion for invasive testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) of adolescents and young adults. The rising incidence of these tumors has prompted a rigorous investigation of the etiology, diagnosis and management of ITGCN. Bilateral testicular cancer is closely linked with ITGCN, as patients with unilateral testicular cancer are at t...
متن کاملMetastatic teratoma from a regressed impalpable testicular primary.
A young man presented with a perineal tumour which despite intensive investigation, remained of unknown origin and required radical excision. It was subsequently shown to be a metastasis from a primary regressed testicular teratoma. It is important to exclude a testicular origin in these patients wherever possible because such tumours are often chemosensitive.

متن کاملCarcinoma in situ testis, the progenitor of testicular germ cell tumours: a clinical review.
Testicular germ cell tumours (TGCT), including seminomas, embryonal carcinomas, teratomas and yolk sac tumours, have a common precursor, the carcinoma in situ (CIS) cell. Recent gene expression studies displaying close similarity of CIS cells to embryonic stem cells support the longstanding theory that CIS most likely originates in utero from fetal gonocytes. The clinical association between th...
